Hi! My name is Connor and I graduated from Punahou in 2015 and USC in 2019. I am currently a research assistant at the JVL Orthopaedic Research Center and teacher at Elite Prep Los Angeles but will be attending medical school in the fall. Tutoring provides an opportunity to share my educational experiences and help students of all academic backgrounds appreciate and engage with challenging material.
Hi! I'm Deborah, a Punahou '17 grad and currently a junior at MIT double majoring in physics and chemistry & biology (the latter two are one major). I'm also on the varsity swim & dive team, and am TAing undergrad intro to electricity & magnetism for the third time!
Aloha! My name is Josette Huang, and I am a graduating senior at Punahou School. I will be attending the University of Chicago this coming fall, and plan on studying political science and psychology. I’ve been tutoring high school and middle school students for almost five years now, and am very grateful for this opportunity to connect with and teach others, and to learn from them as well, especially during this challenging time.
Hi everyone, my name is Katie Yueh, and I am a Punahou Class of 2018 alumna currently studying at UCLA. As someone who definitely knows the feeling of being "stuck" while trying to learn a new topic or concept, I have found that collaborating with peers has been very helpful. I am eager to work alongside students in subjects that I have had experience with and help them achieve their academic goals.
I have a B.Sc. in Biology and a minor in Hispanic Studies from McGill University, and am currently a graduate student at Tufts University. I began my tutoring journey as a 9th grader at Punahou, and I have since served in numerous language and science education roles as a tutor, TA, and museum educator. I love getting students excited about learning and helping them reach their full potential!
Hello! My name is William Heyler; I am a proud graduate of 'Iolani School and currently a freshman at the University of Portland, majoring in Political Science and History. My school closed due to COVID-19, and I had to move all of my classes online, ending the in-person interaction I became so used to as a student. I signed up to be a tutor because I understand that many of you recently lost the ability to ask for help with schoolwork when you needed it most, and I hope that I can provide some assistance during these turbulent times.
